“Comic books? Why don’t you grow up?”
I’ve heard and seen that over the years from others about myself and about others.
I guess some people can’t understand what it’s like to enjoy the medium, to create the adventures, any of it really. It can just be dismissed as something for kids.
Thinking about it can trigger those self-doubts I’ve always had apparently.
But then I think about the voices on the other side, of those who see. My college professor, the late Dr. Travis Lockhart, who said he was proud of me. Of my high school friend John who said it was cool to see me doing what I had dreamed of. The voices of my friends. Family. Even what fans I may have.
I’ve been doing it this long. I’m not stopping. And some talented people will join me to create new comics, new stories and more.
And the negative voices?
They can just shut the hell up
