Bill Nichols’ Prescription:
Comics 10ccs Greg LaRocque

What inspires you to create and keeps you going?

Many answers to that question. Love of the art is foremost

Do you have a set routine?

Coffee, smoke, the news then work of the day. Pick up the pencil or pen & go. 🙂

What kind of output do you try to achieve?

I don’t fight deadlines anymore so I draw when my hands are healthy. I’m fighting psoriatic arthritis in my golden years.

What inspires you WHEN you create? Music? Noise? Silence?

The world offers unlimited inspiration, all you have to do is take notice.

Who was the first comic book creator that influenced you to pursue this?

Neal Adams is my all time favorite creator.

When did you realize you could follow this path yourself?

Before I could walk, I knew I dug art.

What do you find to be a challenge in creating?

Make each job your next best work.

What else do you have to learn?

The secret!

What keeps you motivated to get better?

The thrill of victory & the agony of defeat.

Can you turn your brain (creativity) off (and on)?

It’s always on but at different speeds.

Booster Shots

What advice do you have for aspiring creators?

Learn the craft & honor the art form.

Do you ever worry about running out of ideas?

I worry about my work looking stale & outdated.

How do you handle the slow times?

I have lazy bones, lol

How do you feel about the industry?

Very stressful time right now with Covid-19 hitting everyone hard. I wish everyone the best. Stay safe and we’ll all get through this.
